Urban Mission
Exploring issues of Urban Mission and the Working Class experience of the church.
This website hosts the findings from the Dmin research study titled “Jesus Called the Working-Class: Models for Training Working-Class Church Leadership” by Rev. Dr. Cris Rogers.
The study explored issues related to the working-class experience in the Church of England, including perceptions and theology of urban environments and the working-class, as well as how to train working-class individuals for church leadership roles. The study championed several key areas:
1) a positive theology of the working-class,
2) a positive theology of inner-city communities, and
3) apprenticeship models for training working-class leaders.
This webpage aims to host the study’s findings and recommendations, serving as a resource for those interested in understanding and addressing the unique challenges and opportunities associated with working-class church leadership development.
